May 2015 was a month of anticipation and excitement as my friends and I embarked on a memorable journey from Bangalore to Hoggenakkal Falls. With an adventurous spirit and a rented a SUV from Zoom Car, we were all set to immerse ourselves in the mesmerizing natural wonders of this enchanting destination.

Day 1: Departure from Bangalore
We set off from Bangalore early in the morning, the car revving up as we hit the highway. The drive to Hoggenakkal Falls was about 180 kilometers, promising a scenic journey through the countryside. As we left the city behind, we marveled at the lush greenery, passing by quaint villages and sprawling farms.

Arrival at Hoggenakkal Falls:
After a few hours of driving, we finally reached the breathtaking Hoggenakkal Falls. The sight that greeted us was beyond words. The roaring sound of cascading waterfalls, surrounded by rocky hills and dense foliage, filled the air. We couldn’t wait to explore this natural wonder.

Exploring the Falls:
The thundering water, plunging from a height, created a misty atmosphere that was both refreshing and invigorating. We decided to take a coracle ride, traditional circular boat made of bamboo, to experience the falls up close.

As we boarded the coracles, the experienced boatmen skillfully manoeuvred us through the frothy rapids. We felt the cool spray of water on our faces, and the adrenaline rush was indescribable. The boat ride took us through narrow channels, allowing us to witness the magnificence of the falls from different angles. The sheer power and grandeur of the waterfalls left us in awe.

Picnic by the Riverside:
After the exhilarating boat ride, we found a serene spot by the riverside to have a picnic. We unpacked our backpacks filled with delicious snacks and enjoyed a leisurely lunch while listening to the soothing sounds of nature. The ambiance was perfect, with the gushing waterfalls serving as a backdrop to our delightful meal.

Sunset at the Falls:
As the day drew to a close, we made our way back to the falls to witness the magical sunset. The golden hues of the sun reflecting on the cascading water created a surreal and ethereal atmosphere. We sat by the riverside, captivated by nature’s canvas, and reflected on the incredible journey we had undertaken.

Day 2: Return Journey
Reluctantly, we bid farewell to Hoggenakkal Falls, but with cherished memories etched in our hearts. The drive back to Bangalore was filled with lively conversations, reminiscing about our adventure-filled trip.

Our visit to Hoggenakkal Falls was an experience of a lifetime. The awe-inspiring beauty of the waterfalls, the thrilling boat ride, the warmth of the villagers, and the peacefulness of the surroundings created an indelible impression on us.
