A boat ride in Sundarban

A boat ride in Sundarban

The Sundarbans, a vast mangrove forest in India and Bangladesh, is a place of great natural beauty and biodiversity. One of the best ways to explore the Sundarbans is by boat, and that’s exactly what I did on my recent trip.

The journey began at the jetty in Sundarbans, where we boarded a motorboat. As we set off into the mangroves, the scenery quickly changed from the hustle and bustle of the city to a peaceful and serene landscape. The tall mangrove trees, with their twisted roots exposed, seemed to go on forever.

As we cruised deeper into the forest, we saw an incredible array of wildlife. We spotted spotted deer grazing on the banks, and heard the distinctive call of the Bengal tiger in the distance. We also saw monkeys swinging from branch to branch and a wide variety of birds, including the majestic kingfisher.

The boat ride was not just about wildlife watching, it also gave us a chance to learn about the culture and way of life of the people who live in the Sundarbans. We stopped at a small village, where we met with a wild life sanctuary and museum and the local people told us about his daily routine and the challenges he faces living in the Sundarbans.

The highlight of the boat ride was undoubtedly the sunset. As the sun began to set, the sky turned a brilliant orange and pink, and the mangrove trees seemed to glow in the light. It was a truly magical moment, and one that I will never forget.

Overall, the boat ride in the Sundarbans was an unforgettable experience. It was a chance to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the mangrove forest, and to learn about the culture and way of life of the people who call it home. It’s definitely a trip I would recommend to anyone looking for an adventure in the wilderness.
